Bionomic Industries manufactures two different types of electrostatic precipitators, the ECharge™ and HEI™ WESP for removal of submicron particulate, aerosols and liquid mists at low energy costs. Although Bionomic precipitators are more advanced in design they operate on the same principle, creating a corona ion field that charges the particles with an electrode and collecting the particle onto a grounded collecting surface for removal. The ECharge incorporates flat collecting plates and wire charging electrodes used mainly for light inlet loadings of particulate on general indoor applications or non-corrosive process gases. This unit's collection plates are cleaned offline. The HEI™ WESP is a heavy duty rugged collector. The HEI™ uses hex tubes for the collecting surface and rigid full length charging electrodes at higher voltages for maximum particle charging and removal. Cleaning is performed by introducing either a continuous or periodic water film onto the tube interior surface to flush collected liquid or solid particles. This unit is made for online continuous operation and can remove even sticky particulate.
The Bionomic HEI™ (High Energy Ionizer) Wet Electrostatic Precipitator System represents a major breakthrough in the advancement of state-of-the-art fine particulate control. Centered around precipitator hardware improvements that deliver high reliability and outstanding collection performance, the HEI WESP System incorporates a unique discharge electrode technology that can be sized to specific applications. The system's electrode geometry concentrates a high intensity ionizing corona in strategic areas within the collecting tubes instead of distributing it along the entire length of the tube's treatment area. This high intensity corona provides particle charging fields that are two to three times stronger than those of conventional precipitators–resulting in higher particulate charges, higher migration velocities, and smaller precipitator size.
In many cases, the highly efficient ECharge Precipitator allows the cleaned air to be recirculated back into the building–conserving heat energy and reducing utility costs. As an added benefit, the ECharge can be used to collect valuable dusts or liquids, resulting in additional cost savings. For services requiring removal of solids or liquids that adhere to collector plate surfaces, an automatic wash down spray assembly permits in place cleaning of the collected material making it extremely versatile for use in a wide range of applications. Units are also equipped with long life solid state power supplies for reliable operation.
